2012 Aerobics Season Review
Balance Mayfield – 1st July
Our first winter aerobics effort saw us back at Balance for a Sunday afternoon session. Balance generously gave us four lanes for three hours and access to the spa, sauna and ice plunge pools.
Twelve swimmers swan a total distance of 31.25ks. Craig led the day with 4.7ks, followed by Emma 3.7ks, Drew 3.6ks, Mike 3.3ks, Robin 3.2ks and Kay 2.9ks.
Drew challenged Emma in every distance and stroke and came second each time.
Kate MacClure (Craig’s daughter) was introduced to masters swimming and was verging on being an accredited timekeeper by the end of the afternoon.
Many of the team tested the wonderful spa and a few were even silly enough to jump into the ice bath (but not for long).
After the swim most of the team headed for the club for a meal and some were joined by their family. All agreed it was a successful and enjoyable way to spend a Sunday afternoon and evening.
Charlestown Pool – 11th March
A beautiful Sunday morning saw eighteen members line up at Charlestown pool to knock over some ks and earn more aerobic points. And knock over some ks they did, 38.75ks to be precise. The pool was sparkling clean and the temperature just right.
Master Chef Theresa was on hand to prepare and serve tasty sausage/bacon and egg rolls, fruit and juice to the exhausted swimmers. Thank you Theresa for a tremendous job once again.
Another aerobics day has been organized at Charlestown pool on Sunday 14th October and we understand Theresa will not be available that day. Don’t worry Theresa you have six months to train up an apprentice.
