Aerobic Swimming – e-1000 Program
Each year, Masters Swimming Australia conducts the e-1000 program.
The aim of the program is to encourage club swimmers to extend themselves by swimming the longer distances, from 400 metres to 60 minutes duration in a variety of strokes, thus improving their stamina and general cardio-vascular efficiency. A bonus is the great feeling of personal satisfaction in achieving something that you may have previously considered out of your reach.
Participating in the program is optional.
If you choose to do these swims, points are attached to each swim and they are recorded for each individual swimmer in the Results Portal – where all swims in carnivals are also recorded.

The total number of swims (gaining points) that can be completed is 62 - broken down into:

- 25 individual 400m swims
- 25 individual 800m swims
- 3 by 1500m swims
- 3 by 30 minute swims
- 3 by 45 minute swims
- 3 by 60 minute swims
The Club’s Aerobics Recorder maintains computer records of every individual swim.
On occasion, the Novocastrian Masters Swimming Club will organise an e-1000 (aerobic) swimming session. This enables swimmers & timekeepers to be together and swim some of the distances in the e-1000 program.

If you wish to do an e1000 (aerobic) swim, all you need is a Record Sheet (right) and a timekeeper who can use a stop watch.
