Swimming Competitively
Across Australia, as well as internationally, swim meets or carnivals are a regular occurrence and they provide an opportunity for members to compete in their age groups in a friendly and fun way.
Swim meets are held in both 25m and 50m, indoor and outdoor pools throughout the year. You can compete in events in all strokes and in distances that range from 25m to 1500m.
Different clubs host Swim Meets (carnivals), so it is a great opportunity to travel to different locations around Australia and enjoy the hospitality of other clubs. Whilst the events are run according to the FINA rules (Fédération internationale de natation or in English - International Swimming Federation), their aim is to provide an opportunity for people to swim competitively (even if it is just about improving your own times) in a friendly environment.
You can enter Swim meets online. Annually there are State, National and World Championships where you can compete against the best Masters swimmers in Australia and internationally.
